On February 18th and 19th, ADOTS clergy members and parishioners gathered at St. Patrick’s Anglican Church in Murfreesboro, Tennessee for a powerful two-day prayer conference titled “Prayer is the Key: How to Unlock the Next Level”. This conference was created by Canon Ty Bragg, Canon for Prayer Ministries. Attended by approximately 50 individuals from several states across the southeast, this conference offered welcoming fellowship, transformative times of prayer and worship, and enlightening times of learning.

Both days began with morning prayer led by St. Patrick’s own Fr. Chris Findley and worship led by St. Patrick’s Parish Musician/Choir Director, Sandy Murray. Carefully curated plenaries were hosted throughout the first day including:

  • “Lord Teach Us to Pray” – Fr. Jim Cheetham
  • “Three Persons, One God – Three Streams, One Church” – Bishop Love
  • “New Testament Demonology Warfare”, “Old Testament Demonology Warfare” and “Breaking Generational Curses” – Fr. Geoff Hatley
  • “Establishing Prayer Ministry in You’re Parish” – Fr. Jim Cheetham and Deacon Melinda Scarbrough

On the evening of the first day of the conference, a healing service with Holy Eucharist was held with a wonderful sermon given by Bishop Love titled “Harden Not Your Hearts – Forgive and Believe”. During the healing service, prayer intercessors and clergy spent intentional time with each attendee in need of healing or prayer, ensuring they are comprehensively heard and prayed for appropriately. At the conclusion of the healing service, the St. Patrick’s hospitality team hosted a delicious fellowship meal for all attendees.

On the second and final day of the prayer conference, Archbishop Foley Beach spoke extensively about the Biblical foundations of prayer and fasting, which was a timely conversation with the Lenten season a matter of weeks away from the conclusion of the conference. Before Bishop Love gave his inspiring, intentional, and inspired dismissal prayer, attendees took turns sharing what they’ve learned and how they were impacted by the prayer conference. Several attendees reported significant improvements in physical ailments, mental clarity, and notable spiritual growth. Praise be to God!

“We hope to host more conferences in the future that will serve to equip members of diocese in various ministries,” said Fr. Chris Findley. “We live in a time where the Church must stand boldly and courageously proclaim the Gospel of Jesus. St. Patrick’s truly wants to help our fellow Anglicans in that crucial mission. I hope attendees left encouraged and equipped to serve in the prayer ministries of their churches. I also hope they were strengthened in their personal prayer life so they can pray with confidence enabled by the power of the Holy Spirit. There is a great need for the church to truly mobilize in consistent prayer, and my hope is that this prayer conference gave attendees practical tools for prayer.”

The success of the conference and resoundingly positive feedback from attendees has been encouraging to the ministry team at ADOTS. Prayerful considerations are being made for future prayer conferences.
