O God of grace and glory, we remember before you this day those who perished on September 11, 2001. We thank you for giving them to us as fellow citizens and companions on our earthly pilgrimage. In your boundless compassion, console all who mourn, especially their family and friends. Give them, and us, peace and guide us in the way of justice and truth, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Almighty God, we commend to your gracious care and keeping all the men and women who serve in emergency response services. Comfort those who mourn this day; Strengthen them in their service of others; give them courage to face the perils of their service; and grant them a sense of your abiding presence wherever they may be; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Everliving God, whose will it is that all should come to you through your Son Jesus Christ: Inspire our witness to him, that all may know the power of his forgiveness and the hope of his resurrection; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
O God, the Father of all, whose Son commanded us to love our enemies: Lead them and us from prejudice to truth: deliver them and us from hatred, cruelty, and revenge; and in your good time enable us all to stand reconciled before you, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Almighty God our heavenly Father, guide the nations of the world into the way of justice and truth, and establish among them that peace which is the fruit of righteousness, that they may become the kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
