Mission Trip to Kerala, India: A Powerful Connection Between the Anglican Diocese of the South and the Church of South India Madhya Kerala Diocese

In a spirit of global fellowship and commitment to the Great Commission, the Anglican Diocese of the South recently had a mission trip to Kerala, India, to collaborate with the Church of South India Madhya Kerala Diocese. Archbishop Foley Beach and Canon Sean George participated in this mission trip. This visit marked a significant chapter in the growing relationship between the two dioceses and highlighted mission work’s importance in local and international communities.

The mission trip coincided with the Madhya Kerala Diocese’s annual diocesan convention, bringing together thousands of believers across India. This year, the convention saw over 13,000 participants who gathered to worship, learn, and grow in the Word of God over the span of a week. The atmosphere was filled with energy and excitement as believers from all walks of life came together to deepen their faith and strengthen their community.

Archbishop Foley Beach, the primary speaker for the event, delivered powerful and encouraging biblical talks throughout the week. His messages, focused on the transformative power of the Gospel and the call to live out our faith boldly, resonated deeply with the attendees. Archbishop Foley’s sermons were a source of inspiration, urging them to embrace God’s mission both locally and globally.

The trip was not limited to the diocesan convention alone. Archbishop Foley and Canon Sean had the opportunity to visit several mission centers run by the Madhya Kerala Diocese. These mission centers play a vital role in the local communities, offering a wide range of services, from educational programs to medical care, all rooted in the love and teachings of Christ. The visit gave Archbishop Foley and Canon Sean a firsthand look at the incredible work being done by the Madhya Kerala Diocese in serving the people of Kerala.

The heart of this partnership lies in the shared mission to spread the Good News and serve the communities in need. Both the Anglican Diocese of the South and the Church of South India Madhya Kerala Diocese share a deep commitment to global outreach, and this trip only strengthened that bond. As the team witnessed the ongoing work and met with local leaders, it was clear that the impact of this relationship extends beyond just the trip itself—it is about a long-term collaboration in the Kingdom of God.

This mission trip to Kerala was a powerful reminder of short-term missions’ impact on the communities. Through these trips, lives are transformed, connections are made, and God’s love is shared across cultural boundaries.

As the Anglican Diocese of the South continues to expand its global outreach, there are many opportunities for individuals to get involved. Short-term missions are a vital part of this work, offering a chance to serve, learn, and grow in Christ while impacting communities worldwide.

If you feel called to participate in future short-term mission trips or want to learn more about getting involved, please get in touch with Canon Sean George at the diocesan office. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of God’s work on a global scale and to experience firsthand the incredible ways He is moving across the world.

We are always eager to share what God is doing through and among his people, and we encourage you to send stories, news, etc., with us so we may feature and share amongst the diocese.
