Clergy and lay people in the Memphis Deanery recently gathered at Trinity in the Fields in Marion, Arkansas, to learn from leaders from Christian Healing Ministries in Jacksonville, Florida, and from the Christian Healing Institute out of Falls Church Anglican in Virginia on the fundamentals of Christian healing.
Topics included hearing God’s voice, removing obstacles to healing, how to pray for physical healing, how to pray for inner healing, generational healing and mother-father blessings.
“I’m so grateful that leaders from our church plant were able to participate in the recent healing ministry conference! Not only did it provide a good foundation for building a prayer ministry team, but it also awakened in us a deeper desire to experience more of the ministry of the Holy Spirit. I believe our church will be blessed, our neighbors will be loved, and the Lord will be honored as we step into more of what the Holy Spirit has for us,” said Fr. Drew Haltom of Incarnation Anglican in Memphis.
Participants not only learned from the teachers’ wisdom on these subjects, they participated in numerous group exercises on listening to the Holy Spirit and praying over one another. It was powerful, hands-on teaching that will assist in starting healing ministries.
Sheila Williamson from All Saints in Jackson, Tennessee said, “As we listened to the Holy Spirit for one another, the encouraging images He gave us were uplifting and edifying. As someone who often gets to pray for others, it was so refreshing and nourishing to be prayed for.” “When I was being prayed for, I had a sense of being surrounded by the love and peace of God,” adds Celeste Pope, also from All Saints.
All in all, prayers were answered; people were healed. Thirty pupils from six different churches participated.
